MDA Space is a leader in the provision of earth observation systems and services, catering to both the Canadian and international markets. MDA Space is currently seeking one full‑time staff member to join the team operating a satellite ground station near Prince Albert, Saskatchewan. The successful applicant will monitor ground station operations and provide first line maintenance support in a 24 / 7 operation.

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduling and tasking of reception activities to maintain system readiness for data reception.
• Monitor data reception activities from scheduling and reception to final data transfer to archive.
• Detect and report any operational and technical problems.
• Apply troubleshooting procedures.
• Assist in maintaining accurate logs of system activities and reports.
• Support the Senior Technician in system and equipment maintenance, Level 1 preventative maintenance and repairs, and maintenance logs. This includes climbing a ladder up to 15 metres and installing rack‑mounted systems equipment (up to 30 kg).
• Shift work is required.
• Available on call 24 / 7 in rotation with other Intermediate Technicians.
