Job description

Join our clients team, a leading corporation committed to excellence in every aspect of our operations. We are seeking a dedicated Gardener to maintain our interior tropical plants and exterior grounds at our corporate headquarters. As a member of our landscaping team, you will contribute to creating and maintaining a welcoming and aesthetically pleasing environment for our employees and visitors.

  • Permanent Full time
  • Monday- Friday
  • 6 am - 2 pm 7.5 hour day
  • up to $45,000
  • 3 weeks vacation
  • 3 personal days per year paid
  • up to $2000 education allowance

Will train in snow-clearing

Responsibilities :

  • General maintenance of all exterior plants, shrubs, trees, and lawns, including planting, watering, fertilizing, trimming, edging, and mowing
  • Indoor tropical plant maintenance, including plant identification, watering, general plant grooming, pest identification, and Integrated Pest Management (IPM)
  • Safe operation of electric / gasoline-powered grounds equipment, including snow blowers, lawn tractors, mowers, lawn sweepers, leaf blowers, hedge trimmers, power brooms, power edgers, grass trimmers, and sprinkler systems
  • Weed control using mechanical and chemical methods
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team, completing tasks in a professional and timely manner
  • Maintain shop and work areas in a clean and safe condition, including exterior daily cleaning of courtyard, entrances, and general litter collection of the entire grounds
  • Adhere to health and safety policies, regulations, and safe work practices
  • Responsible for snow and ice removal from building entrances, walkways, and parking lots during winter months
  • Work outdoors in various weather conditions, including extreme heat and extreme cold

    • Qualifications :

  • Previous horticultural training and / or experience preferred
  • Familiarity with the operation and maintenance of groundskeeping equipment
  • Ability to continuously exert heavy physical effort, including extensive climbing and using heavy materials
  • Responsible with an exceptional work ethic
  • Safety wear, personal protection equipment (PPE), and training on the equipment will be provided
