Engineering and Consulting company in Winnipeg focused on quality infrastructure, engineering, design, environmental processes and review, project management and consulting services for Municipalities in Manitoba and Ontario.

About the Opportunity

As a Senior Municipal Engineer, you will focus on planning, design and management of various infrastructure projects including drainage, wastewater, and drinking water projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the design and planning of municipal infrastructure including land drainage, wastewater, and drinking water projects.
  • Ensure adherence to design standards.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure project objectives are met.
  • Oversee and manage construction administration of projects to ensure works are completed in accordance with contract documents, on time, and on budget
  • Monitor third-party work and billing, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
  • Supervision and mentorship of junior team members.
  • Develop and maintain effective working relationships with engineers, contractors, and clients.
  • Leadership and preparation of proposals to secure new assignments
  • Occasional travel such as for business development, client meetings, and / or site / construction milestone reviews.

Qualification

  • 10+ years engineering experience with municipal water or wastewater infrastructure.
  • Proficiency in the use of Design tools like AutoCAD, HEC-RAC and EPANET for water distribution.
  • University degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering or Chemical Engineering.
  • Registered in good standing as a P. Eng. with Engineers Geoscientists of Manitoba.
  • Excellent communication, presentation and stakeholder management skills.
  • Strong technical abilities, as demonstrated through past experience with solving technical, project management, and client challenges, as well as anticipating and mitigating risk.
  • Experience and success in working within and leading teams in office and in remote locations
  • Valid Class 5 Driver's License.
