Position Summary
Providing excellent service for colleagues in every written and verbal communication, the Vessel Operations Representative is responsible for ensuring effective operations for all vessels and terminals across our east coast Canadian ports. Adhering to vessel and terminal cut-offs, the Vessel Operations Representative creates and provides highly accurate reporting and schedules to various stakeholders both inside and outside the Agency.

Qualifications
Key Tasks
- Act as a liaison between the different MSC Agencies and Port Terminals and handle all inquiries.
- Create / submit Import Vessel Manifest to the Marine Ports.
- Submit Import / Export hazardous documents and manifest to the Marine Ports.
- Perform / submit Vessel Forecast for approved Vessels.
- Submit truck allocation to our trucking carrier (for both Canada & US).
- Dispatching Import, Linehauls and Local Reefer Transfers.
- Submit manual Rail billing for Hazardous & Multi B / L containers.
- Manage all inquiries pertaining to Change of destination, PIN, Location of goods requests and CBSA EDI submission.
- Weekly monitoring and reporting of Import KPIs (Vessel Recap Submission and EDI 404 Submission).
- Investigate and approve invoices as required.
- Perform cargo cleaning of vessels for Rail and Port Terminal by reducing, rolling, and cancelling bookings.
- Finalize and generate Export Hazardous container manifests.
- Finalize the loading list / OBL at Terminal cut-off date and send it to the Terminals and MSC Vessel Planners.
- Create and finalize the VCI reports after vessel sailing.
- Submit manual rail billing for Domestic and Hazardous containers.
- After vessel sailing, verifying that all cargo loaded, advising the correct stakeholders, creating a final OBL and finalizing the vessel.
- Coordinate and monitor the movement of cargo through the TS hub and Citrix Applications.
- Ensure at TS activities comply with customs, port, and regulatory requirements.
- Plan and manage shipment schedules to minimize delays.
Skills / Experience :

Excellent command in spoken and written English, with bilingualism (French and English) preferred.Ability to work autonomously as well as within a team.Strong sense of initiative and problem-solving skills and high attention to details.Minimum 2 years’ experience a similar role.Experience with documentation for Hazardous goods and CBSA is preferred.Proficiency in Microsoft office applications, specifically Excel.Strong communication skills for negotiation and reconciliationAdditional Information
