Maintenance Technician (Full Time)

As a technician, your role is essential in enriching the lives of our community members. You will be responsible for ensuring that all buildings and equipment are in good condition and operating efficiently. Additionally, you will maintain the cleanliness and attractiveness of grounds and common areas. Your dedication and high energy towards your work will allow residents to feel at ease, knowing that their homes and surroundings are in safe hands. You will also be expected to respond promptly to any maintenance requests.

Required Qualifications and Requirements

1.Completion of high school or equivalent. Preference given to candidates with education related to building maintenance or an equivalent combination of technical training and experience in building maintenance.

1 year of experience in a similar environment with a strong knowledge of maintenance processes.

5th class power engineering certificate preferred.

2.Qualified by experience and have knowledge to safely perform maintenance duties as assigned.

3.Effective oral and written communication regarding maintenance practices.

4.Ability to effectively manage multiple priorities and deadlines.

5.High level of accuracy and attention to detail.

6.Ability to operate equipment normally found in an office setting (e.g., calculator, fax, photocopiers, computer, telephones).

7.Current valid driver’s license.

8.Professional grooming and hygiene.

Essential Functions

1.Ability to read and write English and follow oral and written instructions.

2.Must be able to complete required paperwork and filing with high degree of accuracy.

3.Physically capable of turning, stooping, bending, stretching, climbing a ladder (working with heights), moving equipment and performing other related tasks and able to work and operate safely in an infection controlled environment.

4.Ability to lift up to 60 lbs.

5.Must be able to cover the expanse of the campus to perform maintenance tasks.

6.Must be able to explain clearly to potential residents, families and employees the policies and procedures of the facility.

7.After receiving the appropriate training, must be able to operate standard equipment for maintenance of the facility and grounds.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

Including, but not limited to the following :

1.Perform maintenance duties.

2.Willingness to follow instructions from manager.

3.Assists in routine maintenance of community.

4.Assists in and provides repair and renovation work as requested in community.

5.Clean and maintain sidewalks, streets, roads and community grounds.

6.Perform cleaning, snow removal, and landscaping operations.

7.Follow company policy.

Upon receipt of Job Requisition Slip, review with supervisor regarding any concerns, problems etc.

9.Upon completion, note the date completed and return slips to supervisor.

10.Equipment and Cleaning Checklist : give completed checklist to supervisor, keep copy for maintenance records.

11.Attend committee meetings appropriate for maintaining a safe working environment.

12.Attend Departmental Meetings.

13.Communicate verbally and in writing regarding required and safe maintenance practices.

14.Maintain highest standards of preventative and building maintenance quality and safety, and ensure that those standards are maintained.

15.Maintain and promote a customer service focus by responding quickly and effectively to customer needs and complaints.
