Concrete Finisher

SPECIFIC SKILLS :

Check formwork, granular base and steel reinforcement material. Direct placement of concrete into forms or surfaces. Fill hollows and remove high spots on freshly poured concrete. Operate power vibrators to compact concrete. Level top surface concrete according to grade and depth specification using straight edge or float. Finish concrete surfaces using hand and power tools. Apply hardening and sealing components to cure surfaces. Repair, resurface and replace worn or damaged sections of concrete structures. Strip concrete forms, cut control joints.

ADDITIONAL SKILLS :

Read and interpret blueprints, drawings and specifications.

OWN TOOLS / EQUIPMENT :

CSA approved steel-toed boots.

WORK CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL CAPABILITIES :

Physically demanding, handling heavy loads.

WORKSITE ENVIRONMENT :

Dusty, muddy, temperature changes.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS :

Communication, working with others, problem solving, job task planning and organizing. Continuous learning.

OTHER :

English an asset but not required. Job entails working in various locations in Alberta as well as one location in British Columbia Thompson-Okanagan Region. Expenses paid by employer. Starting date is weather dependent.
