PURPOSE
Reporting to the Business Unit manager, the main responsibilities of the Product Developer will be to collaborate with several multidisciplinary teams (industrialization, design, marketing, mechanical laboratory, performance laboratory, field tests, sourcing, QC & CAD) in order to manage innovation or product development projects from conceptualization to industrialization, while ensuring compliance with deadlines, budgets and product performance requirements.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
Product development
- Collaborate with Product Managers and Designers to develop new goalie products that meet market’s needs.
- Evaluate the cost of features, materials and components during the development phases and look for solutions to reduce costs or increase efficiency.
- Collaborate with partners in Asia and NA to facilitate the manufacturing process : exchange on specifications, manufacturing process development and manufacturing methods.
- Work with suppliers to develop new processes to meet CCM expectation.
- Manage project timelines & budgets.
Process
Coordinate communication and documentation between different team members (designer, product manager).Continuously improve project management process (timeline management, task and deliverable tracking, etc.).Innovation
Feed new product concepts, technologies and materials through an innovation pipeline.Stay up to date on new technologies and materials and incorporate them into future designs.Guide and support fundamental research projects with research partners to align with product development needs.Develop product concepts that create measurable beneficial innovation for the end user.QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum of 3 years of experience in hard goods development and / or project managementDetail oriented approachUniversity degree in mechanical or material engineering or equivalent.Good understanding of foams and plasticsAbility to prepare and interpret hand drawings as well as 2D and 3D technical drawingsAbility to work independently, to resolve problems and take initiative, adaptability and flexibilityGood oral and written communication skills in both English and FrenchAct as a Product expert within the BU.Familiar with the following software and operation system : MS OFFICE, SMARTSHEET, any project management software. (ILLUSTRATOR is not essential but an asset)Ability to think and act in a goal-oriented manner, prioritizes, and completes tasks in order of importance.Ability to use effective approaches for choosing a course of action or developing appropriate solutions.Act as a positive agent of proactive behavior.Ability to perform a variety of tasks with different levels of complexity.Communication skills and ability to transport information effectively in individual and group situations.Looks beyond the obvious and does not stop at the first answers or stick to traditional ways of thinking and achieving.Negotiation skills in tough situations with both internal and external groups by being both direct and forceful as well as diplomatic.Travel to Asia is a core part of the role, ability to travel is requiredBilingual (French and English) is mandatoryWHY JOIN THE CCM TEAM?
