Amo Ososwan School serves Junior Kindergarten to Grade 11 with an Ontario curriculum, daily Algonquin language classes, and cultural and land-based learning.The Remedial Teacher (One-on-One & Small Group Instruction, No Homeroom) provides direct instruction to students with identified learning differences (IEPs). You will help close learning gaps, strengthen foundational skills, and reinforce concepts through one-on-one and small-group teaching.You will be part of the Specialized Services team, working alongside the Manager, classroom teachers, and outside consultants to support student learning goals, focusing on hands-on teaching.This role is open to any licensed teacher — new graduates, retired teachers, or those looking to teach in small groups and one-on-one settings. No special education experience is required; training and support are provided. Duties : Deliver one-on-one and small-group instruction to students with identified learning differences (IEPs), addressing learning gaps and reinforcing foundational skills.Develop and implement targeted instructional strategies for each student.Collaborate with classroom teachers, the Manager of Specialized Services, and outside consultants as part of the Specialized Services team.Support the implementation of IEPs and monitor student progress, adjusting instruction as needed.Use available learning resources to support student learning.Encourage student engagement, confidence, and self-advocacy.Participate in professional development and training opportunities. Mandatory Requirements : Bachelor’s Degree in Education.Valid teaching certification from any Canadian province or territory.Willingness to work with students with learning differences and follow guidance from the Specialized Services team.Ability to pass a Vulnerable Sector Check (VSC).Open to professional development and training to support instructional strategies.
