Position Overview
Calian is seeking a Family Physician to work at CFB Gagetown medical clinic as an essential member of the health care team in the provision of comprehensive, multidisciplinary, collaborative primary health care services to the Canadian Armed Forces members. Physicians can work Part‑time or Full‑time hours. These services include primary care, minor trauma care, health promotion, prevention of diseases and injuries, rehabilitation and support services. Responsibilities
- Assessments of medical fitness for duty, including pre‑ and post‑deployment, Periodic Health Assessment, recruiting medicals, hazardous occupation assessments, and post‑illness or injury
- Diagnosis and treatment of occupational and environmental injuries and illnesses, including rehabilitation
- Establishment of patient Medical Employment Limitations (MEL), approval and recommendation of sick leave, and assignment and recommendation of changes in medical category in accordance with policies
- Maintenance of occupational health records through Electronic Health Record and other health records forms
- Provision of comprehensive primary medical care to patients with acute and chronic health conditions including referral to other health care providers when warranted
