About the Role
As our Program Manager, you will use your expertise to make a significant contribution to the children, youth, caregivers, and communities we serve. Through a family-centred approach, you will provide support in a safe home environment to children and youth who may have experienced complex trauma and present complex behaviours, as well as people with diverse abilities receiving services through the Ministry of Children and Family Development (MCFD). Your ability to care for others, working both independently and collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team, will influence your team’s success.
You will :
Monitor program delivery, planning, and organizational leadershipAct as a community liaison with MCFD and coordinate special projects as assignedReport to the Regional Manager and DirectorsDemonstrate ability to manage and supervise multi / interdisciplinary teams using strong interpersonal, communication, organizational, and conflict resolution skillsManage multiple projects with a high level of confidentiality, diplomacy, and professionalismUse sound judgment and perform well under pressure to meet strict deadlinesConceptualize new programs and services; experience in planning, organizing, directing, and implementing community-based activities and programs in a collaborative mannerProvide services that support and reflect positive cultural practicesUse highly developed communication skills, both oral and writtenRecruit, orient, schedule, and evaluate personnelProvide guidance and support for team conflict resolutionAttend staff and other relevant meetingsMaintain an attitude of caring, respect, and optimism for families, representatives, and community membersEnsure the home is maintained in a neat and clean state at all timesWhat you bring
A degree in humanities, social sciences, or related field with educational preparation for management / administrationMinimum 3–5 years of experience in a health management roleOther combinations of education and experience may be consideredNursing experience is an assetExperience working with children / youth with complex challenging behavioursExperience with substance use, addiction, harm reduction in community settingsExperience with trauma-informed practicesExperience working with community partners, mental health, nursing support servicesKnowledge of unionized environments, Child Care Licensing Regulations, MCFD standards, Indigenous practices, and relevant organizationsStandard First Aid with CPR certificationPhysician’s assessment of fitness to work, criminal record check, MCFD HUB clearanceValid driver’s license, access to vehicle, ability to travelWhy you'll love it here
