Job description

Responsibilities

Financial & Data Management

  • Assist with project set-up in FBM’s financial management system (Ajera), including Project Set-Up Forms (PSFs) and budget entry.
  • Support financial monitoring, budget analysis, and monthly invoicing in coordination with the Finance team.
  • Maintain accurate records of project revisions, scope changes, and forecasting.
  • Monitor cost and schedule data to flag potential risks or variances.

Operational Support

  • Support PMs with project initiation, coordination of documentation, and internal kick-off plans.
  • Assist with the weekly schedule update process and first-pass reviews of project reports.
  • Manage project documentation in accordance with FBM’s quality standards.
  • Contribute to the evolution of this new role by taking on additional responsibilities and process improvements as the position grows.
  • Collaborative & Team Integration

  • Follow and support the continuous improvement of project controls standards.
  • Collaborate with others to promote understanding and provide necessary project support.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to ongoing learning, mentorship, and professional development.
  • Qualifications

  • Education : Post-secondary education in project management or an administration-related program.
  • Soft Skills : Exceptional attention to detail, strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to multi-task in a collaborative environment
  • Experience

  • Experience : 2+ years experience in a Project Management, Project Controls, or similar operational role is an asset.
  • Technical Skills : Proficiency in Microsoft Office (specifically Word and Excel) and an understanding of basic accounting principles.
  • Industry Knowledge : Experience in a professional services consulting firm (accounting, engineering, environmental, or planning) is considered an asset.
