Overview
We are seeking a motivated and skilled Enterprise Architect to join KPMG Canada Business Enablement Services (BES) Technology team. You will play a critical role in the overall design and integration of an enterprise’s systems and processes. This role requires close collaboration with KPMG Global teams and coordination across multiple domains, including solution architecture, enterprise analytics, data management, network, security, and business stakeholders.
What You Will Do
- Play a crucial role in aligning technology strategy with business goals, involving understanding business requirements and crafting a technology roadmap that guides the organization’s technological investments.
- Develop and maintain the enterprise architecture framework, assist in selecting appropriate technologies, defining standards governing system integrations, and ensuring all technology initiatives align with overall architecture principles and with the KPMG Global Technology Blueprint.
- Engage with various stakeholders, including business leaders, IT teams, and external vendors, facilitating discussions regarding technological needs and communicating the benefits and risks of different architectural choices.
- Establish governance frameworks to ensure compliance with enterprise architecture standards, creating policies and models for evaluating new technologies, and ensuring their alignment with the organization’s strategic objectives.
- Continuously assess and evaluate emerging technologies and their potential impact to the organization, identifying opportunities for innovation and improvement.
- Build and maintain comprehensive documentation of architecture designs, standards, and guidelines, ensuring stakeholders have access to necessary information and helping maintain consistency across the organization.
- Provide oversight to ensure enterprise initiatives adhere to the established architecture, standards, and roadmaps.
- Lead and guide the technology architecture team in defining and implementing scalable, secure, and efficient architecture solutions for various systems, identifying opportunities for process improvement and proactively ensuring efficiency.
- Oversee and ensure architectural decisions align with enterprise standards, security protocols, and compliance frameworks.
- Produce and maintain architectural artifacts, including blueprints, roadmaps, and governance models.
- Proactively identify and mitigate architectural risks, particularly around data pipelines, interface disruptions, and cloud transitions.
What You Bring To The Role
Bachelor’s or master’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, or related fields.5-7+ years of progressive experience in Enterprise Architecture roles with a track record of delivering complex, large‑scale digital solutions.Certifications in architectural frameworks TOGAF, Zachman Framework, or FEAF are required.Deep knowledge in integrating enterprise systems, including enterprise applications, ESB’s, middleware, micro‑services, containers, serverless, and containers.Strong understanding of cloud service models (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS) and cloud architecture with an emphasis on Microsoft Azure, and working knowledge of Amazon AWS and Google Cloud.Experience interacting with GitHub and Azure DevOps (potentially other source management systems).Strong understanding of security principles and practices; proven ability to build strong partnerships with security teams ensuring all principles are in place.Familiarity with agile methodologies and experience in project management.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with an emphasis on stakeholder collaboration.Experience implementing and integrating SAP S / 4HANA.Knowledge and experience using OrbusInfinity or similar platforms is required.This position requires written and oral fluency in English. The successful candidate will be required to support or collaborate with English‑speaking colleagues or stakeholders nationally in our English‑speaking provinces while at KPMG.
