Reporting to the Warehouse General Manager, the Area Manager, is responsible for the performance of both warehouse and delivery teams in our Langford and Nanaimo locations. The position will be based out of Langford with travel to Nanaimo. The successful candidate would be an ambassador for our “Safety First” culture, while providing high quality training to all new / current hires, creating relationships across all departments, and upkeeping a high level of customer service. The Area Manager will also demonstrate effective leadership by being a strong mentor, caring for others, Integrity in daily activities, Authenticity to peers, Determination to drive culture and Improvements.
As an Area Manager, you will
- Oversee day to day operations of Warehouse & Delivery departments in our Langford and Nanaimo facilities with support from Warehouse & Delivery Supervisors at each location
- Assist Delivery teams with training coordination and customer service guidance
- Collaborate with Purchasing & Sales to ensure appropriate on hand inventory
- Maintain inventory accuracy through cycle count programs
- Manage delivery fleet and MHE maintenance programs
- Manage branch P&L
- Aid in hiring, employee training & development, and discipline
- Monitor and report on KPI and operational metrics
- Travel between Langford & Nanaimo as required
