Job Summary
The Quality Control Inspector is responsible for inspecting, testing, and documenting finished products, materials, and processes to ensure compliance with the company’s quality standards and customer requirements. He or she plays a key role in preventing non-conformities and supporting continuous improvement of production processes.
Key Responsibilities
Inspect parts and products at various stages of production
Perform dimensional, visual, mechanical, or functional tests according to established proceduresIdentify defects or deviations and document non-conformitiesDocumentation and TraceabilityComplete inspection reports and quality control checklists
Maintain up-to-date records of tests, measurements, and verificationsParticipate in root cause analysis of non-conformitiesCollaboration with ProductionWork closely with operators and supervisors to quickly identify issues
Provide technical support regarding quality proceduresEnsure proper implementation of corrective actionsAudits and ComplianceParticipate in internal or external quality audits
Verify compliance of received raw materialsEnsure adherence to ISO, CSA, or other applicable certification standardsContinuous ImprovementPropose improvement opportunities to reduce scrap or enhance quality
Contribute to the development or updating of quality proceduresRequirements
Education
College diploma (DEC) or vocational diploma (DEP) in mechanical engineering technology, metallurgy, industrial inspection, or a related fieldExperience
1 to 3 years of experience in quality control within a manufacturing or industrial environmentTechnical Knowledge
Ability to read technical drawings and use measuring instruments (calipers, micrometers, gauges, etc.)Knowledge of manufacturing processes (welding, machining, assembly, etc.)Understanding of ISO, CSA, or equivalent standardsSkills
Strong attention to detail and observational skillsAnalytical mindset and precisionAbility to work independently and as part of a teamGood written and verbal communication skillsAssets
