Key Responsibilities
Accounts Payable (Approx. 70%)
- Process vendor invoicesandexpense reportsaccurately and in a timely manner.
- Match invoices to purchase orders,receiving documentationandother source documents.
- Manage vendor accounts and respond to inquiries professionally.
- Prepare and process electronic payments, cheques, and wire transfers.
- Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies.
- Maintain organized and accurate AP records.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and approval workflows.
- Support month-end AP accruals and reporting.
Accounting Operations (Approx. 30%)
- Perform bank and general ledger reconciliations, investigate discrepancies, and ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial records.
- Prepare and post monthly journal entries, including accruals and adjustments, and support month-end close activities.
- Process cash receipts, assist with accounts receivable transactions, and reconcile GL, AR, and AP subledgers.
- Prepare and file GST/HST returns, assist with Canadian and U.S. sales tax filings, and maintain documentation for tax compliance and audit purposes.
- Support year-end audit preparation by providing required schedules, working papers, and documentation to external auditors.
Qualifications & Skills
- 23 years of accounting experience, with strong emphasis onAccounts Payable.
- Experience invendor management and invoice processing.
- Solid understanding of general accounting principles.
- Experience with accounting software and Excel.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities.
- High attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage deadlines in a fast-pacedteamenvironment.
