Position / Term : Permanent / Local Position (Non-Camp / Non-FIFO)
Location : Syncrude , Fort McMurray, Alberta
Work Schedule : 6 on, 6 off; 12-hour day and night shifts

What I will be doing?
Using manual or semi-automatic welding equipment to fuse metal pieces using processes such as, gas metal arc (MIG or GMAW), flux-cored arc (FAW), plasma arc (PAW), shielded metal arc (SMAW), oxy-acetylene (OAW) and Cooper Heat.Ability to apply knowledge of metallurgy, geometry, and welding techniques.Welding / gouging in all positions.Ability to work in a safe and efficient manner.Physically fit to perform all duties of the job including but not limited to heavy lifting, bending etc.What does Acden need from me?
Alberta Certified Journeyperson Welder (or Interprovincial Red Seal) is a requirement. Third (3rd) year Apprentices will be considered.Minimum One (1) to Five (5) years of experience in the Welding trade is required.Experience with Cooper Heat, Shielded metal arc welding (SMAW), Gas metal arc welding (GMAW) (MIG), Flux core arc welding (FCAW), Stick Welding and Gouging (CAC-A) is required.Ability to read and interpret blueprints is required.Ability to work both independently and in a team environment is required.Ability to provide credentials of trade prior to the interview stage is required.Clearance on drug, alcohol, hearing and physical abilities pre-employment testing is required.Common Safety Orientation (CSO) or equivalent (or ability to obtain pre-hire) is required.Eligibility to work on the Syncrude site is required.What are the "nice to haves?
Heavy Equipment repair experience on Mining Mobile Equipment is an asset.Experienced with 1 / 16” (1.6mm) wire is an asset.Acden is 100% community-owned by the Athabasca Chipewyan First Nation.
