Journeyman - Electrician

A well-established Vancouver-based electrical contractor is expanding and looking to add multiple Red Seal Journeyman Electricians to their team. This company hires for long-term growth, not short-term projects, and offers a clear path forward for electricians who want to progress into leadership, supervision, or management over time.

All senior leadership within the organization are Red Seal electricians themselves, creating a strong mentorship culture and a deep understanding of life on the tools.

Project Mix & Pipeline

The successful candidates will work across a diverse and healthy pipeline of commercial work, including:

• Major event infrastructure work at a large stadium venue

• Multiple downtown commercial tenant improvement (TI) projects (2–3 floor office TIs)

• Commercial new-build institutional project (student housing)

• Renovation of a downtown heritage building

• Additional commercial projects currently nearing award

Work is primarily commercial TIs, with exposure to new-build commercial and light industrial projects.

The Ideal Candidate

This role is best suited for a well-rounded Journeyman who takes pride in their craft and enjoys mentoring others.

You bring:

• Strong all-around commercial electrical experience

• Excellent conduit bending skills (minimum requirement)

• Confidence working independently while supporting site leadership

• Strong communication skills and a willingness to train apprentices

• A “jack-of-all-trades” mindset with solid troubleshooting ability

Key Responsibilities

• Perform electrical installations in accordance with the Canadian Electrical Code (CEC)

• Read and interpret drawings, schematics, and specifications

• Install and troubleshoot systems including power, lighting, controls, and fire alarm

• Mentor and train apprentices on site

• Coordinate with forepersons and other trades to maintain schedules

• Uphold safety, quality, and workmanship standards at all times

Requirements

• Red Seal Journeyman Electrician certification

• Commercial electrical background (tenant improvements and/or new build)

• Experience mentoring apprentices

• Strong understanding of the CEC and site safety practices

• Currently employed and actively working in the trade

• Residential-only backgrounds will not be considered
