Position Summary An Account Manager plays a crucial role in maintaining and growing relationships with clients. The responsibilities of an Account Manager typically include a mix of client-facing activities and internal coordination to ensure client satisfaction and business growth.
You will be helping customers resolve sales-related issues in a timely manner, promoting customer satisfaction, and motivating sales staff to ensure company sales targets are being met.
Responsibilities of an Account Manager Client Relationship Management
- Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned clients.
- Build and maintain strong, long-lasting client relationships.
- Understand client needs and business objectives to provide tailored solutions.
- Conduct regular meetings and check-ins with clients to ensure satisfaction.
Account Planning and Strategy
- Develop strategic account plans to identify growth opportunities.
- Monitor and analyze client performance metrics to develop improvement strategies.
- Collaborate with clients to establish clear account objectives and milestones.
- Stay updated on industry trends to offer proactive advice and solutions. Sales and Revenue Growth
- Identify upselling and cross-selling opportunities to expand accounts.
- Achieve assigned sales targets and revenue goals for each account.
- Prepare and present proposals, negotiate contracts, and close sales.
- Collaborate with the sales team to acquire new business from existing clients. Project Management and Delivery
- Coordinate with internal teams (e.g., marketing, product development, customer service) to deliver products and services.
- Manage the execution of client projects, ensuring timely delivery and quality standards.
- Track project milestones and ensure they align with client expectations.
Problem Resolution
- Address and resolve any client issues or concerns promptly and effectively.
- Act as a liaison between the client and internal teams to resolve conflicts or service challenges.
- Proactively identify potential issues and work to mitigate them before they escalate.
Reporting and Documentation
- Prepare / Review regular reports on account status, including progress on objectives, sales performance, and service issues.
- Maintain detailed records of all client interactions, communications, and meetings using programs assigned to you by the company.
- Provide clients with periodic business reviews and performance reports.
- Client Education and Advocacy :
- Educate clients on new products, services, and updates to enhance their experience.
- Advocate for client needs and feedback within the company to drive product improvements and service enhancements.
Contract Management
- Manage contract renewals, amendments, and compliance with terms and conditions.
- Ensure all contracts are up-to-date and reflective of current client needs and agreements.
Market and Competitor Analysis
- Monitor market trends and competitor activities to identify potential threats and opportunities.
- Provide insights to clients on market dynamics that could impact their business.
Collaboration and Teamwork
- Work closely with the sales, marketing, and product development teams to align on client strategy and delivery.
- Share client feedback with relevant teams to improve product and service offerings.
Client Onboarding
- Oversee the onboarding process for new clients, ensuring a smooth transition and integration of services.
- Train clients on the use of products or services and ensure they have all necessary resources.
Budget Management
- Monitor and manage the financial aspects of client accounts, including invoicing and payment collection.
- Ensure that account activities align with the agreed-upon budget.
Networking and Relationship Building
- Attend industry events, conferences, and networking opportunities to build relationships with existing and potential clients.
- Represent the company in a professional and positive manner at all client-facing events.
Key Skills for an Account Manager
- High School diploma, GED or equivalent.
- 3 years previous experience in the industrial sector.
- Physically fit enough to lift at least 50 pounds.
- Able to work well with others as a team or independently.
- Must have a strong sense of urgency and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
