Position Summary
We are seeking an **Accountant** to join the Financial Services team. The Accountant reports to the Manager, Financial Operations and supports the development, implementation, and maintenance of financial administration, systems, processes, and projects in alignment with KPU policies and statutory requirements.
Responsibilities
- Support the development and implementation of financial administration practices.
- Maintain and evaluate financial systems and processes.
- Coordinate special projects that support KPU’s strategic initiatives.
- Manage and supervise staff performing financial functions across faculties and university‑wide areas.
- Ensure compliance with collective agreements, statutory requirements, and KPU policies.
- Provide financial analysis, reporting, and presentation of complex financial data.
Education and Experience
- Chartered Professional Accountant designation in good standing (required).
- Minimum two years of progressive experience, including supervisory or managerial roles.
- Minimum three years of experience in operations, financial administration, systems, projects, or assurance.
- Equivalent combination of education, training, and experience acceptable.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Excellent written and verbal communication with a customer‑service focus.
- Effective relationship building across all levels.
- Strong knowledge of accounting procedures and financial reporting.
- Ability to present complex financial data clearly and concisely.
- Proficiency with spreadsheets, financial software, and databases for analysis and reporting.
- Solid understanding of campus culture and diversity.
- Capability to travel between campuses.

Salary Information
Administrative Salary Grid – $85,711 to $125,709 annually.
