Truck & Trailer Mechanic / Apprentice

Location : Stellarton, Nova Scotia

Pay Range :

Red Seal Mechanics : $39.00 / hour
Apprentices : Starting at $27.75 / hour and up (based on experience and certifications)
Schedule : Full-time, Monday to Friday day shift, 40 hours / week + available overtime
Employment Type : Permanent, year-round

About the Opportunity

We’re seeking experienced Truck and Trailer Mechanics and Apprentices to join a growing maintenance team responsible for a modern fleet of trucks, trailers, and reefer units . The ideal candidates are detail-oriented, safety-focused, and skilled in diagnosing and repairing commercial transport systems.

This is a full-time, steady position offering competitive pay, excellent benefits, and opportunities for advancement within a professional maintenance environment.

Key Responsibilities

Diagnose, repair, and maintain trucks, trailers, and reefer units.

Perform preventative maintenance and safety inspections.

Manage parts inventory and complete repair documentation accurately.

Conduct pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip inspections as required.

Read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and work orders.

Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.

Qualifications & Assets

Experience required with commercial truck systems — chassis, frame, cab, body, engines, drive train, air brakes, steering, and fuel systems.

Strong diagnostic, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.

Red Seal Journeyperson Certification (asset).

Reefer unit experience (asset).

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
