Accounting Analyst, Financial Accounting- Reconciliation

The Accounting Analyst is responsible for processing entries in PeopleSoft Accounts Payable & Enterprise General Ledger for Specialized Accounting Analyst will lead the monthly Balance Sheet Review and Attestations according to established business rules for each GL account follow-up with owners of these balances for verification and/or clearing long-outstanding items. They will also prepare the daily reconciliation of the inter-branch settlements with counterparties and monthly review of Accounts Payable /Accounts Receivable and other liability Accounting Analyst monitors intercompany loans and deposits balances; checks and reviews daily settlement of Scotia Mortgage Corp. GICs sold and serviced by BNS branches and prepares daily/monthly/quarterly GL entries. She/he/them also liaises with customers for PeopleSoft report inquiries and other duties as assigned.

Is this role right for you In this role you will:

Processing entries

• Input PeopleSoft invoices and PeopleSoft GL entries
• Input Automated Fund Transfer in the System (Form Free Teller) daily follow-up and resolve unmatched AFTs.
• Analyze and evaluate alternatives to resolve and correct AFT rejects and suspense items within scope of FAR-SAs mandate.

Management Reporting

• Prepare compile reconcile and analyze monthly EO Balance Sheet Review.
• Analyze reconcile and investigate ledger balances of AP AR and Other Assets and Other Liabilities based on established business rules of all GL accounts in the EO Balance Sheet.
• Prepare and analyze regulatory and management reports (e.g. IBS reconciliation and G.O. 888) Guarantees and Intercompany assets and liabilities.

Customer Service

• Ensure that EO Accounting retains the highest customer satisfaction.
• Promptly liaise with customers to resolve issues.
• Investigate and evaluate the cause of problems and recommend improvements.

Other Supporting Tasks / Projects in Specialized Accounting

• Participate in testing new systems functionality.
• Participate in new data capture initiatives receive training and then share knowledge with team members.
• Support Fixed Assets Analyst in inputting of entries in Asset Management System

• Have strong accounting skills.
• Communicates clearly and precisely both verbally and in writing.
• University/College Business Degree.
• Accounting and or Reconcilation experience is considered an asset.
