Overview
The Cloud Security Engineer will be responsible for designing, implementing, and supporting cloud environments for Morgan Stanley Investment Management, primarily within Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Microsoft Azure. This highly technical role focuses on driving integration and convergence efforts across cloud service provider environments. The engineer will collaborate closely with stakeholders to align security requirements, reduce risk within development pipelines, and support the larger Cloud Security and Risk Management organization, which includes Compliance, Governance, and Security functions.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and support secure AWS and Azure cloud environments
- Drive integration and convergence efforts across multiple cloud service providers
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to align security requirements and reduce risk
- Support compliance, governance, and security functions within the Cloud Security and Risk Management organization
- Participate in risk assessments, audits, and regulatory engagements
- Provide technical leadership in architecture, design, and implementation of modern development practices
- Communicate security risks effectively to business and technical teams
- Assist in implementing solutions based on firm’s security policies and controls
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Assurance, or related field (or equivalent experience)5+ years of experience in information security, with focus on application and infrastructure securityExpertise in AWS and Azure cloud security for infrastructure and application developmentExperience with compliance and audit engagements (GLBA, SOX, SOC, regulatory agencies, Internal Audit)Strong ability to communicate business risk as it relates to information securityExperience managing stakeholders with strong communication and influencing skillsTechnical leadership experience (architecture, design, implementing modern development practices)Knowledge of multiple computing platforms including Windows, OSX, Linux, Unix, networks, and endpointsExperience with configuration management, change management, and project management tools (e.g., Cherwell, ServiceNow)Preferred Qualifications
Prior experience in a financial services or highly regulated environmentFamiliarity with security risk governance committees and risk reporting capabilitiesCertifications
Relevant cloud security certifications (e.g., Certified Cloud Security Professional (CCSP), AWS Certified Security – Specialty, Microsoft Certified : Azure Security Engineer Associate)
