We are looking for a passionate individual excited about joining our team as a Water Treatment Plant Operator Level II or Level III. Any certified WTP Operator that holds a Water Engineering Technology Diploma (or equivalent) will be considered an asset.

Nature and Scope of Work :

Under the direction of the Water Treatment and Distribution Chief Operator, the Water Treatment Plant Operator III is responsible for the daily operation and routine maintenance of the water treatment facilities – a direct filtration and ultra-violet disinfection treatment plant with secondary chlorine disinfection and associated water collection components. The Operator III is responsible for maximizing the performance of the water treatment facilities, pressure reducing and distribution stations / reservoirs and other related equipment as well as minimizing safety and health risks and environmental concerns.

This position falls within the Collective Agreement between the City of Salmon Arm and CUPE 1908. The hourly pay rate for the Water Treatment Plant Operator Level III position is $40.11 / hr (Step 1) and includes an excellent benefit package.
