Activate is a technology company known for creating Canada's first full-scale interactive gaming experience. We are looking to expand our Information Technology team with the addition of a Director, IT. This position is responsible for overseeing the technical infrastructure at Activate, including infrastructure, security, and technical support teams. In this role, the Director will assess and determine business requirements for systems and teams, manage the design and implementation of IT infrastructure, and eliminate information technology security risks.This is a full-time, permanent position.

The Duties and Responsibilities :

People Leadership

  • Hire and organize training for all departments within the IT team
  • Coach, lead and collaborate with various departments in the game development and deployment functionalities
  • Develop the people infrastructure for IT to support the international and Canadian store growth
  • Ensure leaders are conducting checkpoints and performance assessments, as well as create development plans for staff members

IT Infrastructure

  • Leads the IT team to provide scalable infrastructure and software solutions for both corporate HQ and for our corporately-managed Activate facilities
  • Manages our New Store Opening process to ensure hardware is procured, configured and shipped for every new Activate store opening
  • Leads the administration of our Microsoft 365 environment
  • Builds and manages relationships with clients, vendors and business units

    • Security, Technology and Process Leadership

  • Develop and implement business continuity protocols to minimize disruption to business operations in the event of emergency situations or data loss
  • Establish efficiency and efficacy standards, providing recommendations for improvement of IT infrastructure
  • Prioritize and lead research and development initiatives to support the growth and expansion into international environments
  • Review analysis of IT infrastructure and systems performance to assess operating costs, productivity levels, upgrade requirements, and other metrics and needs
  • Oversee security of systems, networks, and enterprise information
  • Facilitate IT security audits or investigations
  • Develop and maintain relationships with external IT vendors and service providers

    • The Qualifications :

  • 7+ years w / Sr. Leadership
  • Related bachelors degree
  • Strong interpersonal, communication and leadership skills
  • Familiarity with Amazon Web Services (SES, S3, etc.)
