Senior Staff Accountant

• Oversee daily accounting workflows to ensure efficiency accuracy and consistency.
• Manage full-cycle accounting including commissions A/P A/R and month-end close.
• Prepare review and analyze monthly financial reports.
• Maintain accurate financial records and ensure data integrity across entities.
• Support audit preparation and respond to auditor requests.
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards regulations and internal policies.
• Act as a key contact for commission-related inquiries and accounting support requests.
• Use QuickBooks and financial systems effectively recommending improvements as needed.
• Mentor and support team members to promote collaboration and development.
• Contribute to process improvements and special projects as required.

• Post-secondary education in Accounting Bookkeeping Finance or a related field.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in a finance or accounting role.
• Minimum 1 year of experience mentoring or overseeing finance administration processes.
• Strong proficiency with accounting software (QuickBooks or similar) & Microsoft Excel.
• Previous experience in the insurance industry (an asset).
• CPA designation or currently working toward CPA certification (an asset).

• Salary Band 5: $62000-$79000
• Target Hiring Range $62000 - $66000
