Job description

Electrotechnician Classe C - Candiac Plant

Schedule :

  • Monday to Friday, from 8am to 4pm (40h / week)
  • On call on weekends and after hours (on rotation)

Salary :

  • According to the Collective Agreement
  • Hourly rate $37.44 - $40.06 (annual increase in October)
  • Overtime with premium offered
  • Objective :

    This position requires the Electrician to perform various electrical maintenance tasks in a food manufacturing plant. The candidate must have good electrical and mechanical knowledge, as well as experience with programmable logic controllers. This position is under the supervision of the Maintenance Supervisor.

    Roles and Responsibilities :

  • Responsible for the care and maintenance of all electrical and electronic equipment and tools
  • Responsible for following all safety rules and guidelines
  • Installation of a wide variety of electrical equipment and control circuits
  • Installation of conduit and wiring
  • Repair / rebuild / troubleshoot / upgrade electrical equipment
  • Read logic diagrams and understand the operating principles of programmable logic controllers
  • Solve PLC and instrumentation problems
  • Perform preventive maintenance and work orders
  • Demonstrate excellent mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills
  • Continuous Improvement
  • Perform other duties as required.
  • Job Prerequisites :

  • Attention to detail with good verbal and written skills,
  • Ability to stand or sit, lift weights, climb stairs and ladders, crouch, kneel and work with tools
  • Demonstrate the skills necessary to perform the tasks listed
  • PLC troubleshooting skills (Allen Bradley, PLC-5, SCL-500, Control Logix), operator interface (Allen-Bradley RSView32, FactoryTalk View)
  • In-depth knowledge of electrical and electronic equipment
  • Knowledge of variable frequency drives, instrumentation and calibration
  • Good knowledge of computers
  • Good diagnostic and problem solving skills
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Safe behaviour.
  • Academic background and work experience

  • Experience in an industrial environment, ideally in instrumentation
  • Qualification as a non-construction electrician (License C) or in the process of obtaining it
  • Have a college diploma (DEC) in Industrial Electronics Technology or in Instrumentation and Control
