The Role :

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Professional Engineer to join our Maintenance & Engineering team as the Manager of Maintenance & Engineering. In this role you will be responsible for managing all engineering projects to ensure they meet our manufacturing objectives, and to maintain a safe and efficient operation of our manufacturing facilities. You will also direct the repairs and maintenance of all plant equipment and buildings in a 24 / 7, multi-shift environment.

• Identify improvement opportunities and enhance our existing facilities, infrastructure and equipment through the management and execution of the engineering capital program.
• Develop and execute a proactive maintenance strategy and reliability methodology.
• Plan and organize engineering projects, develop the functional budget and goals, and provide direction for staff.
• Lead, develop and coordinate the capital plan as well as the engineering and maintenance budget for the plant.
• Provide direction and guidance to the Engineers and Supervisors regarding the design and selection / conversion / modification of equipment improving reliability, reducing costs, improving quality, marketability or continuous improvement objectives.
• Collaborate with R&D to identify manufacturing technologies, techniques and equipment for the manufacturing of new products or improvement of existing processes or methods.
• Work closely with the Plant Manager to improve productivity, reduce costs, or increase capacity.
• Ensure accurate, up-to-date blueprints and filing systems of plant services equipment, electrical systems and facilities for the plant.
• Partner with Environment Health, Safety and Security to identify cost effective utilities services to minimize the environmental footprint.
