Key Responsibilities
The Journeyman Mechanic is responsible for servicing / repairing SOUTHLAND school buses in a safe, efficient, and effective manner. This position is not confined to shop activities as the Mechanic may be required to perform field work on down buses.

Journeyperson Mechanic ticket (Heavy Duty or Automotive)Engine repair experience desiredOwn hand toolsFluent in written and spoken English2 - 5 years related experienceValid Driver's Licence (Class 2 or 3 considered an asset)CVIP (Commercial Vehicle Inspection Program) License considered an assetPrevious Lead Hand experience considered an assetPrevious experience working with buses is preferredExposure to working on diesel enginesAbility to comprehend / operate diagnostic and manual measuring tools, including micrometers, brake drum gauge, Ohmmeters, and AVR (Amps, Volts & Resistors)Analytical and troubleshooting skillsComputer proficiencyWillingness to mentor ApprenticesAbility to prioritize and manage multiple tasks at onceRemuneration
