Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled Journeyman Millwright (or equivalent experience) with strong mechanical and electrical expertise to support operations in Waterville, Nova Scotia. The ideal candidate is capable of performing motor unwiring/rewiring, DC motor brush checks, and general mechanical maintenance. This is a long-term, on-site contract opportunity requiring reliability, safety focus, and strong English communication skills.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform mechanical maintenance, installation, and repair of equipment

• Unwire and rewire electric motors, including DC motor brush inspections

• Diagnose and troubleshoot both mechanical and electrical issues to minimize downtime

• Work safely in accordance with site and industry standards

• Use personal hand tools to complete tasks (drill and/or impact tools provided if needed)

• Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members

• Complete assigned work accurately and on schedule

Required Qualifications

• Journeyman Millwright certification or equivalent mechanical experience

• Strong mechanical and electrical skills, with hands-on motor experience

• Experience with DC motors and basic electrical wiring tasks

• Fluent in English (spoken and written)

• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment

• Reliable, punctual, and safety-conscious

Work Schedule

• Monday to Friday

• 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM

Compensation & Contract Details

• Hourly Rate: $34.00 – $37.50 (based on experience)

• Vacation Pay: 4% added to pay

• Benefits: Not provided
