The Cost Analyst will provide advanced cost analysis and financial insights to support the Materials Department. Responsibilities include analyzing actual versus standard costs, preparing variance reports, conducting audits, and leveraging advanced Excel and Power BI tools to compile, visualize, and present data. The role requires strong analytical, presentation, and writing skills to deliver actionable insights for cost optimization and profitability improvements.
Major Accountability
- Analyze standard versus actual costs to identify variances and trends.
- Develop and implement cost accounting procedures and ISO‑compliant methods.
- Prepare and present cost reports, dashboards, and statistical analysis using Power BI and Excel.
- Support buying decisions through cost modeling and profitability analysis.
Key Tasks & Responsibilities
- Perform detailed analysis of costs and performance metrics across the supply chain.
- Calculate unit costs and review cost records for accuracy and compliance.
- Create and maintain Power BI dashboards and advanced Excel models for performance measurement and cost tracking.
- Devise, analyze, and report performance metrics to identify areas of improvement.
- Update and maintain processes and work instructions in line with corporate guidelines, ISO quality standards, and industry best practices.
- Collaborate with Finance, Supply Chain, and Operations teams to provide actionable insights.
- Lead or support special projects related to cost optimization and data analytics.
- Assist the Materials Manager with the administration of Engineering Changes and Materials Deviations.
Qualifications
- Specialized Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (including VBA/Macros) and Power BI for data visualization and reporting.
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills with attention to detail.
- Excellent presentation and written communication skills (advanced skills in PowerPoint and MS Word).
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment.
- Familiarity with the QAD ERP system.
- Proven track record in designing Power BI visuals and analyzing large datasets, mastering advanced Excel features, and ensuring attention to detail and accuracy of figures.
- Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or Data Analytics.
- APICS Certification or any other acceptable certifications in Logistics Management and/or Inventory Management.
- 8‑10 years of experience required.
- At least 3 years in Management Reporting and generation of dashboards and metrics.
