What you'll do :

The Civil Engineering Students will assist with the design and inspection of various road and bridge construction projects. Under the supervision of senior staff, this position will assist with the preparation of engineering design drawings and specifications, construction inspection, culvert condition inspections, surveying, traffic counts, and collection of GPS data.

  • Pre-Tender Inspections & Data Collection :   You will work in field to capture existing conditions of County owned infrastructure for design & budgetary reasons.
  • Construction Inspection :   You will visit current construction projects to assure adherence to various OPSS specifications along with quantity verification.
  • Locates :   You will head to the field and mark out existing County infrastructure to facilitate safe work for customers working in the County’s right of way.
  • In accordance with County Policy, a Police Record Check that is acceptable to the County will be required as a condition of employment.

  • Our non-negotiables :  You are a current student in an Engineering-related program, or will be graduating from an Engineering program during in early-2025. You have a valid, Ontario G2 (or higher) driver’s license.
