Job Title : Accounting Manager

About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to oversee the day-to-day accounting operations and ensure accurate, timely financial reporting for a manufacturing company . This is a mid-senior level role ideal for a hands-on leader with a strong technical background and a passion for driving process improvements. With opportunities to mentor a team and implement efficiencies, this position offers a pathway to permanent hire based on performance.
Key Responsibilities Team Leadership and Development
- Supervise and mentor a team of accounting professionals, fostering growth and accountability.
- Assign responsibilities, set priorities, and monitor team performance to achieve objectives.
- Promote a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement.
Accounting and Financial Operations
Oversee month-end close processes, ensuring accurate financial reporting within 5–7 days.Manage general ledger activities, including reconciliations, accruals, and adjustments.Prepare financial statements and reporting packages for leadership review.Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable
Oversee AP / AR functions to ensure accuracy, compliance, and timely payments / collections.Manage offshore invoicing, freight accruals, and revenue recognition processes.Optimize payment approvals, automation workflows, and vendor management systems.Payroll and Compliance
Oversee payroll processes, including benefits remittance, bonus payouts, and deductions.Ensure compliance with GST / PST filings and regulatory deadlines.Support year-end processes, including T4 preparation and tax audits.Process Improvement and Systems
Identify and implement process improvements and automation opportunities.Support GL system upgrades and finance-related technology enhancements.Optimize expense claims processing to improve efficiency.Financial Reporting and Analysis
Prepare monthly financial reports, reconciliations, and variance analyses.Support budgeting and forecasting processes with financial insights.Monitor KPIs to evaluate financial performance and inform decision-making.General Administration
Manage office-related accounting functions, including expense management and vendor contracts.Collaborate with leadership on cross-functional finance initiatives.Qualifications and Skills
CPA designation or equivalent.5+ years of post-designation experience in accounting leadership roles.Strong technical expertise in GL systems, month-end close, and financial reporting.Proven experience managing and mentoring a team.Advanced proficiency with Excel, financial reporting tools, and system upgrades.Exceptional communication, organizational, and analytical skills.Demonstrated ability to drive process improvements and automation initiatives.Core Competencies
