PostgreSQL Senior Database Administrator (DBA)

Marsh McLennan’s Database Services team is growing rapidly, and we have an exciting opportunity for a creative and inquisitive Senior Database Administrator skilled in Postgres and Oracle. This hybrid role requires 3 days in-office in Canada and offers the chance to work on a global team responsible for critical enterprise database systems.

PostgreSQL Senior Database Administrator (DBA)

We will count on you to :

• Manage, optimize, and ensure the high availability of PostgreSQL databases hosted on Linux and cloud platforms (AWS and Azure).
• Lead complex database migration projects from Oracle to PostgreSQL, including performance tuning and high-availability configurations.
• Implement advanced PostgreSQL features such as partitioning, indexing strategies, query tuning, and replication to optimize performance at scale.
• Oversee configuration and management of cloud-based PostgreSQL offerings and maintain disaster recovery solutions with RTO & RPO considerations.
• Utilize PostgreSQL extensions (e.g., PostGIS, pg_partman, pg_stat_statements) and support Oracle DB features like RMAN, Export / Import, and Triggers.
• Contribute to automation initiatives by researching and presenting new technologies to enhance database strategy and operations.

All Marsh colleagues are expected to be in their local office or working onsite with clients at least three days per week. Office‑based teams will identify at least one “anchor day” per week on which their full team will be together in person.

The applicable base salary range for this role is $96,600 to $146,600.

The base pay offered will be determined on factors such as experience, skills, training, location, certifications, education, and any applicable minimum wage requirements. Decisions will be determined on a case‑by‑case basis. In addition to the base salary, this position may be eligible for performance‑based incentives.
