About the role

We are looking for a Business Intelligence (BI) Analyst with multiple talents to join our dynamic national BI team. Reporting to the Manager of BI, the BI Analyst will be working on designing various analytical reports on multiple data sources and delivering them to management and other interested parties. The BI Analyst works collaboratively with end users and the BI Team to develop reporting systems that provide accessible information for decision-making. The BI Analyst uses data to solve organizational problems through reports, analysis and data visualization. The BI Analyst will provide his / her data expertise with emphasis on data design, access, usage, security and quality of information assets.

The BI Analyst should be analytical and have excellent communication skills since he / she will be presenting the results of his / her work. We are looking for a person with an acute business sense and strong problem-solving skills. As an ideal candidate, you have an in-depth proficiency with data, databases and ETL frameworks. You will bring Business Intelligence projects to life; from the inception to the delivery to operations.

What you will accomplish with us :

Develop reporting systems that provide accessible information for decision-making.

Use data to generate reports to support business decision-making and business performance monitoring.

Translate business requirements and problems into innovative technical solutions.

Evaluate and improve existing BI systems.

Set up and maintain BI tools, infrastructure, and integration with company data sources.

Troubleshoot and solve problems on data models.

Generate and deliver quality reports to operation and perform quality assurance checks on reports.

Work with data warehouse architects, data scientists, and data collection application engineers.

Propose data schema and data flow optimization for reporting performance and enhancement as needed.

Analyze product, market, and trends to build data models.

Create prototypes and proof of concepts.

Ensure solutions are released properly, and each release is documented.

Create and maintain unit and functional tests.

What you bring to the table :

University degree in data-related field (i.e., Mathematics, Science, Statistics, AI, Computer Science, etc.), or any combination of equivalent education and experience.

3 to 5 years of experience as a Data Analyst or relevant experience

Deep knowledge of BI reporting tools such as Power BI.

Solid experience with databases (Oracle, SQL Server, Snowflake) and ETL tools.

Understanding data and query optimization, query profiling, and query performance monitoring tools and techniques.

Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.

Great attention to detail.

Ability to work in a team.

Good communication skills.

Autonomous and with initiative.

Ability to think logically and troubleshoot issues.

Motivated to learn new business and technical concepts

Past experience in major enterprise with big contact center and sales department (An asset).

Experience in the insurance industry (An asset)

Experience with the agile methodology (An asset).

For candidates located in Quebec, bilingualism is required considering the necessity to interact on a regular basis with English speaking colleagues across the country

No Canadian work experience required however must be eligible to work in Canada
