• Key Responsibilities :
• Strategic Leadership :
• Develop and implement the operational strategy aligned with the company’s overall goals and objectives. + Lead, mentor, and develop the operations team, fostering a culture of high performance, accountability, and continuous improvement. + Drive innovation in operations to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and increase customer satisfaction.
• Supply Chain Management :
• Oversee all aspects of the supply chain, from procurement to delivery, ensuring that food products are delivered on time, in full, and within quality standards. + Manage supplier relationships and negotiate contracts to ensure favorable terms and consistency in supply. + Ensure compliance with all food safety, regulatory, and environmental standards.
• Logistics & Distribution Oversight :
• Lead the logistics and transportation teams to optimize national distribution networks, ensuring on-time delivery and cost-effective transportation solutions. + Implement data-driven strategies to manage fleet operations, warehouse facilities, and distribution points across the country.
• Operational Excellence & Process Improvement :
• Continuously evaluate and optimize operational workflows to drive cost reductions and operational efficiencies. + Foster a culture of operational excellence through the implementation of Lean, Six Sigma, and other best practices. + Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) to monitor operational performance and initiate corrective actions when necessary.
• Budget & Financial Management :
• Develop and manage the operations budget, ensuring cost controls are in place and that the department operates within financial targets. + Analyze financial reports to identify areas for improvement and create cost-saving initiatives. + Developing and managing Budgets, P&Ls and key performance indicators
• Cross-functional Collaboration :
• Collaborate with Sales, Marketing, and Customer Service teams to ensure seamless communication between departments and alignment on client expectations. + Work closely with IT to enhance systems and processes that drive operational performance and integrate advanced technology into the supply chain.
• Compliance & Risk Management :
• Ensure all operations comply with local, state, and federal regulations, including food safety, health and safety standards, and environmental guidelines. + Develop and manage risk mitigation strategies to minimize disruptions in the supply chain and ensure business continuity.
• Qualifications :
• Education :
• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred). + Certifications in logistics or supply chain management (e.g., APICS, Six Sigma) are highly desired.
• Experience :
• 10+ years of progressive experience in operations management, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role, preferably in the food distribution or related industry. + Proven track record of successfully managing large-scale, complex operations across multiple regions. + Strong experience with food safety standards, inventory management, and distribution logistics.
• Skills & Abilities :
• Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills. + Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities with a data-driven approach to decision-making. + Ability to manage competing priorities and drive projects to completion in a fast-paced environment. + Expertise in warehouse management systems (WMS), enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems, and other operational software.
• Physical Requirements :
• Ability to travel as needed to oversee operations at various distribution centers and facilities.
