We’re seeking a highly skilled Instrumentation and Controls Engineer to support international project execution and expansion efforts across multiple regions. This role is ideal for a technically proficient engineer with a global mindset, capable of navigating diverse regulatory environments and collaborating with international clients and teams.
Job Duties :
- Lead instrumentation scope development based on P&IDs, process flow diagrams, and equipment datasheets.
- Design and review control documentation, including loop narratives, alarm / trip setpoints, and cause & effect matrices.
- Perform sizing and selection calculations for control valves, flow meters, pressure safety valves, and other field instruments.
- Specify and procure instrumentation and analyzers, ensuring compatibility with process requirements and project standards.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation, including instrument index, datasheets, I / O lists, and hook-up drawings.
- Support fabrication and testing, providing technical guidance during assembly and participating in FAT procedures.
Ensure compliance with codes and standards, such as AER, IEC, CSA, ATEX, ISA, ASME, API, SIL, and SIS.
Key Qualifications
Minimum 5 years of instrumentation engineering experience, preferably within a mid-sized fabrication environment.Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent technical education from NAIT or SAIT.Professional registration with a Canadian engineering association; APEGA membership strongly preferred.Strong understanding of instrumentation systems, control principles, and industrial communication protocols.Proficiency in AutoCAD, Microsoft Word, and Excel; ability to produce wiring and control loop diagrams is an asset.Excellent time and project management skills, with the ability to handle multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
