Controls Technician – PLC Programmer

Responsibilities

• Builds, installs and / or maintains robotic equipment and / or automated production systems
• Maintains service records of that equipment.
• Troubleshoots systems using knowledge of micro processing, programmable controllers, electronics, circuit analysis, mechanics, sensor or feedback systems, hydraulics and / or pneumatics
• Develops robotic path motions to maximize efficiency, safety, and quality.
• Aligns, fits, or assembles component parts using hand tools, power tools, fixtures, templates, or microscopes.
• Programming, commissioning, and testing of Rockwell, Siemens, and Omron PLC and HMI programs, which may include associated manufacturing equipment such as motion control, vision, RFID, scanners / readers, measurement, and instrumentation equipment
• Responsible for maintaining, developing, and following company’s control standards, templates, and programming libraries.
• Troubleshooting / diagnosing of Process issues and perform root cause analysis
• Perform daily checks as required on all equipment as instructed
• Supports continuous improvement projects by analyzing root causes and working with other departments to implement solutions
• Assist operators in the day-to-day functions of the machines
• Ensuring Operator settings are correct and working when a machine stops or fails
• Work closely with the shift Supervisor to improve process efficiency, quality, and reliability
• Performs all duties as assigned in accordance with and adherence to the IATF / TS 16949 Quality System Standard
• Follows Policies, Procedures and Work Instructions as outlined in the Quality Systems Manual and Employee Handbook
