Overview

The Opportunity : WSP’s Buildings’ team engages in the design of commercial, institutional, recreational and residential buildings. This is a role that requires you to play ‘detective’ at times through site investigations. You will need to understand systems that were designed years ago and adapt whatever is in place to new technology and system design. This is a challenging and exciting career opportunity for the right individual with the skills as mid-level technical personnel.

Job Description The opportunity remains to contribute to electrical design across power distribution, control, communication, lighting, fire alarm, security systems and emergency power within building projects. You will work with AutoCAD and Revit for design and documentation and may perform individually or as part of a team under the supervision of Senior Engineers.

What you’ll do

• Electrical design, calculations and preparation of specifications of power distribution, control, communication, lighting, fire alarm, security systems and emergency power
• Preparing AutoCAD drawings and Revit 3D modeling for electrical system designs
• Understand Electrical Engineering requirements, Ontario Building Code (OBC), Electrical Safety Authority, and IEEE standards for Building and Site design
• Perform individually or as a team member within electrical discipline under direct supervision of Senior Engineers
