About the role :
Canadian Blood Services (CBS) is looking for a Temporary Full-Time Director, Financial Planning & Analysis to join our dynamic Finance & Corporate Services division.
The work of a Director, Financial Planning & Analysis is integral to Canadian Blood Services' role as Canada's Biological Lifeline.
The Director of Financial Planning and Analysis (FPA) oversees the Finance business partner function, supporting both annual planning and in-year financial management.
This role involves collaborating with the Director of Strategic Financial Management for long-term financial planning and strategic investment costing, ensuring strong integration and excellent internal customer experience.
Additionally, the Director works with the Director of Financial Reporting and Services to provide financial information for board, committee, and executive management reporting.
They also represent finance in the Management Business Review (MBR) and attend the Executive Business Review (EBR) to support in-year financial performance reviews, partnering with various directors to manage corporate portfolio reporting at EBR and Executive Management Team (EMT) meetings.
Overall, the Director, FPA ensures strong integration and collaboration across teams, providing critical input to the CBS Financial Authority Framework.

- Leveraging your collaborative skills, develop and maintain relationships with Finance managers and colleague directors.
Desired Education & Skills :
- Post-secondary level education in a relevant discipline from a recognized academic institution.
- Preferably a CA, CGA or CMA designation.
- Equivalent experience managing a similar function would be considered an alternative.
- Six years of related, progressive management experience within a financial environment at a senior level.
- Knowledge of regulated industry standards and with ISO 9000, TQM, cGMP or an equivalent is required.
- Depth and breadth of experience in financial modelling and analysis.
- Knowledge of budgeting and forecasting processes and procedures.
- Knowledge of financial planning and RFP Development.
