We also cross-sell the full range of wholesale products and services offered by the Scotiabank Group.
Purpose :
The Associate Director, Commercial & Corporate FX Sales will take on an assigned portfolio of Commercial & Corporate clients in Montreal.
The selected candidate will be responsible for developing, maintaining and growing these relationships with the objective of maximizing risk management opportunities with the clientele.
What You'll Do :
- Distribute a range of foreign exchange derivatives products to new and established Scotiabank clients.
- Assist in the development of new risk management solutions to be brought to market
- Build on existing relationships, by developing a deep understanding of client's business models and understand all risk management opportunities.
- Provide innovative ideas, timely market information, pricing through an exceptional client servicing.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with the Interest Rate Risk Solutions Team, FX sales, Corporate Fixed Income Origination, FX trading and other GBM partners locally and through the Scotiabank platform globally.
- Cultivate new client relationships by working closely with internal partners, including Corporate and Investment Banking and other product groups
- Solid understanding of the banking regulatory environment
- Cross sell the Bank's wholesale banking services to deepen existing relationships and cultivate new ones
- Protect the Bank from loss and / or exposure to unnecessary risks through strict compliance with applicable acts, policies and regulations as applicable
What You'll Bring :
- Undergraduate degree in relevant field
- MBA and / or CFA designation (or working towards) would be an asset.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience with derivatives and other capital markets instruments
- Proven record of client relationship management skills and willing to travel in Canada
- Previous success in a fast paced and dynamic environment
- Very strong business development and marketing skills. Sales experience in the Financial Services industry would be an asset.
- In-depth knowledge of hedging strategies including experience structuring non-linear solutions.
- Experience with FX & interest rate related systems including : Bloomberg, 360T, Markitwire, Wallstreet and Murex
- Excellent presentation and communication skills in both English and French. Comfortable speaking in front of an audience and explaining complex ideas.
- Strong team player able to collaborate with internal groups in achieving cross sell objectives and franchise growth.
- Excellent PC skills with strong working knowledge of Excel, PowerPoint and data analysis in particular
- Familiarity with hedge accounting would be an asset.
Work Arrangement :
This position is currently an on site role, with the expectation that you will work 4+ days a week in the office. Please note that this is subject to change based on the needs of the business.
