Quality Assurance Manager / Safety Program Coordinator

About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail‑oriented Quality Assurance Manager / Safety Program Coordinator to lead our quality systems and drive a culture of safety across our operations. This dual-focused role is ideal for a proactive professional who thrives on continuous improvement, cross‑functional collaboration, and ensuring organizational excellence in both product quality and workplace safety.
Key Responsibilities
Quality Assurance Leadership
Maintain and uphold ISO 9001 standards across the organization.
Work closely with the Operations Manager to obtain customer approvals for product and process changes.
Maintain the customer‑supplied drawing list and ensure accuracy at all times.
Assist with disposition of major nonconforming products or materials.
Actively participate in APQP activities.
Ensure the gauge calibration program is followed and properly documented.
Establish and maintain effective inspection activities—including receiving, in-process, and final inspection.
Hold the authority to stop production when suspect product is identified.
Establish identification and applicable traceability procedures.
Ensure layout and functional testing inspections are completed as required.
Conduct measurement system evaluations and maintain test equipment calibration.
Lead corrective and preventive action identification and implementation.
Conduct preliminary process capability studies.
Maintain quality assurance records and identify suspect materials.
Verify the effectiveness of corrective actions and preventive measures (CARs).
Share responsibility with the Office Manager for purchasing and supplier development activities.
Communicate with customers regarding quality concerns.
Collaborate with leadership teams regarding quality system updates or issues.
Act as the Quality Management Representative .
Health & Safety Coordination
Demonstrate strong knowledge of responsibilities outlined in the Occupational Health and Safety Act .
Act as the Health and Safety Program Coordinator for the organization.
Serve as a resource to the General Manager and Operations Manager for all safety-related matters.
Assist the Joint Health & Safety Committee.
Address health and safety issues promptly and effectively.
Develop, implement, and maintain all health and safety policies, procedures, and documentation.
Track and manage all incident and accident reports.
Liaise with Plant Manager and Shift Supervisors on return-to-work programs.
Conduct and document quarterly workplace inspections.
Promote and model safe work practices, including appropriate use of PPE.
Qualifications & Skills
Experience in Quality Assurance within a manufacturing environment.
Strong understanding of ISO 9001 and APQP processes.
Knowledge of occupational health and safety legislation.
Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
Ability to influence, lead, and collaborate across teams.
Detail-oriented with a continuous improvement mindset.
