The Senior Manager of Infrastructure is a strategic and operational leader responsible for the design, implementation, security, and ongoing management of the company’s IT infrastructure. This role ensures the reliability, scalability, and resilience of systems that support steel manufacturing operations across multiple plants and corporate facilities in Canada and the United States. The Senior Manager oversees a distributed infrastructure team ensuring high performance, strong customer service, and adherence to corporate standards. This role partners closely with Operations, Cybersecurity, Applications, and Engineering teams to maintain mission-critical manufacturing systems and to support the company’s modernization and digital transformation goals.

Strategic Leadership
- Develop and execute the company’s infrastructure roadmap aligned with business and manufacturing objectives
- Advise the CISO on infrastructure strategies, emerging technologies, and long-term capacity planning
- Drive modernization initiatives, including cloud adoption, system upgrades, and lifecycle management
- Infrastructure Operations
- Oversee the reliability and performance of core infrastructure services, including : Servers (physical and virtual)Storage, backup, and disaster recovery systemsHelp DeskActive Directory and Microsoft 365Industrial IT systems supporting plant operations (where applicable)
- Ensure 24 / 7 operational availability for manufacturing sites and critical corporate systems
- Establish and enforce infrastructure standards, architecture principles, and best practices
Team Management & Development
Lead and mentor a multi-disciplinary team of Systems Engineers, EUC Managers, and System AdministratorsSet team goals, oversee workload and resource allocation, and manage performanceFoster a culture of accountability, innovation, documentation, and continuous improvementSecurity, Compliance & Risk Management
Partner with the Cybersecurity team to ensure secure infrastructure design, vulnerability management, and incident response readinessMaintain compliance with regulatory requirements across Canadian and operations (, NIST, CCPA, PIPEDA)Oversee backups, disaster recovery planning, and business continuity strategyProject Management & Execution
Lead infrastructure projects supporting plant modernization, active directory design, hardware refreshes, cloud initiatives, and M&A integrationsManage vendor relationships, contracts, and procurement of hardware / software and managed servicesDevelop project timelines, budgets, and reporting for the CISO and Executive leadershipEnd-User Technology & Support
Oversee End-User Computing functions, ensuring secure, reliable delivery of desktops, laptops, mobile devices, and related servicesEstablish service KPIs and ensure a positive user experience across all locationsManage endpoint security, patching, and lifecycle managementRequirements
Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field8–12+ years of progressive IT infrastructure experience, including 5+ years in leadership rolesExperience managing distributed IT teams across multiple sitesProven track record supporting industrial or manufacturing operations (steel, metals, heavy industry preferred)Experience with VMWare and backup frameworksStrong leadership, coaching, and team-building skillsStrategic thinker with excellent execution disciplineStrong knowledge of enterprise infrastructure technologies : Windows Server, Active Directory, Azure ADVMware or Hyper-VNetworking (Cisco, Fortinet, SD-WAN)Storage, backups (Veeam, Rubrik, Cohesity)Cloud platforms (Azure or AWS)Excellent communication with both technical and non-technical stakeholdersAbility to operate effectively in a fast-paced, evolving industrial environmentStrong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skillsCompensation
