Role description :

Arcadis is currently looking for a Sr. Electrical Engineer in the Montreal area. The Sr. Electrical Engineer role will lead electrical building design from concept and detail design to construction support for projects across our offices such as industrial civic commercial and more.

Working within our Design & Engineering teams youll create some of the worlds most iconic and groundbreaking structures and spaces that transform the world around us from making journeys easier to opening public places that bring people together.

This role sits within our global business area work with our clients around the world to create support and enhance smart safe and sustainable places where people live work learn and thrive. Places impact on the quality of peoples lives. Whether new homes shops workplaces schools and hospitals manufacturing research and development facilities or data and distribution centers. People and communities thrive when the spaces in which they live work move and play are designed and managed in a way that best meets their needs.

Role accountabilities :

  • Prepares electrical designs and drawings of building facilities and building electrical systems including power lighting fire alarm PA IT etc. using computeraided tools (e.g. EDSA and ETAP analytical software CDEGS grounding software Revit AutoCad and MicroStation CAD systems)
  • Assist to identify costeffective solutions to design problems
  • Leads electrical design teams on larger multidiscipline projects
  • Liaises internally with project managers and other discipline project leaders to obtain project information and to discuss specific design related problems
  • Assists in creating and presenting technical reports regarding the nature status and results of design or study assignments
  • Requires the ability to recognize the implications of assigned work on the work of other disciplines and ensures the necessary coordination occurs

Qualifications & Experience :

  • A bachelors degree in electrical engineering plus 10 years experience in buildings electrical systems design preferred in a consulting or utility environment.
  • Must have or be eligible for the designation of Ing. or Eng. in Quebec
  • Bilingual : Excellent written and verbal communications skills in both French and English
  • Strong skills in the use of the REVIT modeling system is an asset
  • Electrical design and specification experience in the following building systems : power distribution in buildings lighting design fire alarm systems card access and camera security systems PA systemstelecommunications systems and audiovisual systems
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of the Electrical Safety Code

    The salary range for this position is $100000 $100000. The base salary represents Arcadis hiring range for this position. Actual salaries will vary and will be based on various factors such as location skills experience and qualification for the role.
