Are you a First Nations, Metis, or Inuit professional who has a background in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field?

We're looking for you to join our team as a Software Developer in Toronto, ON.

Our Retail Customer Platforms Technology team manages the enhancement, development, implementation, and operational support of various banking systems including Offer Management, Pricing & Rates, and core banking systems.

As the Developer, you will collaborate with Development Leads and Architects to implement design specifications, provide daily support for application maintenance, and work on offer management applications catering to Scotiabank customers. Your responsibilities include creating technical stories and tasks, addressing defects, deploying applications, conducting system analysis, coding, testing, documentation, and participating in code reviews and issue analysis for both production and implementation issues.

Self-Identify as First Nations, Metis, or Inuit

  • Strong oral / written communication skills
  • Post-secondary degree, diploma, or certification in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
  • Strong problem-solving skills
  • Proficient in reviewing and designing documents, creating technical stories and tasks
  • Technical experience in Core Java (Version 8 or higher) and SQL
  • Familiarity with CI / CD tools like Bit Bucket, GIT, Gradle, Jira, Confluence, or similar programs
  • Experience in agile methodologies
  • Knowledge of event-driven architecture (Kafka)
  • Technical proficiency in Web Services (XML / SOAP / REST) and Spring Tools
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms like Microsoft Azure or Google Cloud, and Splunk
  • Contributes positively to team dynamics, fosters a productive and professional work environment
