Quality/Lab Supervisor - Relocate to Kingston, ON
We are thrilled to partner with a manufacturing company in Kingston, ON to assist them in their Quality / Lab Supervisor role.
You will manage a team of 17 and be responsible for the overall operation of the lab, including driving continuous improvement with team members, implementing best practices, and optimizing processes.
Responsibilities :
- Provide supervisory and strategic leadership to the Kingston Site Laboratory team including setting vision, strategies and goals aligned with the Global Quality and Site Visions.
- Create an environment and build a capability in team members for driving continuous improvement towards Right the 1st Time release of product, resulting in zero medium / high impact quality incidents and rework of product.
- Continuously improve the consistency of product offerings through the reduction in measurement variability by applying statistical process controls and measurement systems analysis (MSA).
- Drive continuous improvement of quality risk profile through the engagement of laboratory team members.
- Lead the execution of lab instrument migration projects, including communicating with our site and customer-facing quality team members.
- Manage laboratory resources, including equipment, materials, and costs, to maximize productivity.
- Ensure compliance with relevant regulatory requirements, including health, safety, and environmental regulations.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including R&D and manufacturing, to support product development and commercialization.
- Provide technical expertise and support to address quality incidents at the root.
Qualifications :
- 2+ years’ experience in a leadership role or informal leadership through program / projects
- Previous experience working in a manufacturing, industrial or automotive environment
- Post-secondary education in a technical or technology discipline
- Previous experience leading in a unionized environment is an asset
- Experience applying quality core tools including PFMEA, MSA, and statistical methods is an asset
