Equitable Bank has an opportunity for 4 - 6 Associates to join our Rotational Leadership Development Program beginning September 2025.

The Rotational Leadership Development Program is a two-year program that provides the unique opportunity to gain exposure in six different areas of operations at Equitable Bank.

This program offers participants the opportunity to learn key skills in credit within the Commercial Mortgage Department, experience in Residential Strategy, and behind the scenes marketing analysis and technology within Digital Banking.

This Program is also designed to allow our Associates the opportunity to explore their choice of three elective business units which include a selection from :

  • Corporate Finance
  • Enterprise Risk Management (ERM)
  • Strategy & Corporate Development
  • Investor Relations (IR)
  • Growth Business Strategy

Rotations Overview

The following is a brief overview of each rotation that includes only some of the functions you will participate in but is not inclusive of all.

In Commercial Mortgage Credit you will partake in credit analysis, with an understanding of the near prime and prime financial markets.

As an underwriter, you look at credit reports, property appraisals, third party reports and make decisions on whether to recommend a loan for approval.

There will be networking with brokers and other external business partners along with various staff within the Commercial Lending group.

You will have the opportunity to work on your own deals, seek approvals, and gain insight on the commercial and multi-residential real estate markets.

In Specialized Finance, the LDP will be responsible for assisting in all aspects of portfolio administration and writing credit risk analyses.

The key focus will be placed on real estate and non-real estate secured operating lines of credit, equipment financing, and portfolio acquisitions.

The LDP will be trained on all aspects of underwriting the loans including analysis of market, operational, and credit risk factors inherent in the lending decision.

The LDP will also become familiar with new deal flow, operational requirements, and funding / reconciliation mechanics. You will have the opportunity to work on your own deals, seek approvals, and network with business partners.

In Residential Strategy , you will support the development and execution of strategy for the Bank’s Single Family Residential Lending department.

You will have the opportunity to start developing a cohesive strategic toolkit, and play a key role in : 1) Conducting market research to support business unit strategy (e.

g. competitive positioning, product assessments, market sizing, industry trends), 2) Supporting the analysis and business casing for new opportunities and strategic initiatives, 3) Developing executive level presentations for the Bank’s C-Suite and Board of Directors, and 4) Creating mission critical reporting and dashboards using PowerBI and SQL (we’ll teach you how!).

The team is invested in your success and takes your development seriously. We have a structured training and onboarding plan to support your development and ownership of key initiatives as the rotation progresses (dependent on business needs and always with help and support of senior team members).

In Digital Banking , you will be working in either the Customer Experience, Analytics & Insights, or Payments team based on business needs .

In Customer Experience , you can expect to be thinking about how we can better serve our customers as a bank via our online banking platform, mobile app and other touchpoints, such as the call centre.

This may involve doing customer research, customer journey mapping and competitive scans to find opportunities for improvements or new offerings.

You’ll be involved in Design Thinking workshops with participants across Digital Banking functions. You may then assist in the evaluation of these opportunities both qualitatively through user testing research, as well as quantitatively through surveys and light financial modeling.

On the Analytics & Insights Team, you will work on high impact business problems, ranging from investigative analysis to predictive solutions across different business verticals of marketing, call center, mortgage business & Fraud.

This will enable you to develop your data analytical skills to get to actionable insights, and then work with cross-functional team to implement your recommendations.

On the Payments team, you will work on developing the Digital Payments strategy. A key component of this will involve understanding the Global / Canadian trends and its impact on Canadian payment landscape.

You will work on putting together competitive landscape benchmarking, understanding innovations across markets in digital payments and providing qualitative & quantitative input supporting the business case for new product rollouts.

Under the broader umbrella of Finance, we have Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) .Within the FP&A team, you will be involved in preparing management reporting and analysis related to portfolio performance and financial results;

executive committee and board meeting presentations; MD&A commentary for quarterly and annual reports; and conduct financial modelling and analysis, largely related to the budget and forecast process.

In the Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) rotation you will review credit risk and the impacts to IFRS 9, AIRB, and Stress Testing.

There will be opportunities to refine your technical skills in SQL, Python, and develop analytics tools for Risk Management.

As part of the Strategy & Corporate Development team, you will work on initiatives that cut across all business units within Equitable Bank, with a focus on strategic growth initiatives and enterprise-wide planning.

This work brings together skillsets across internal consulting, strategy, investment banking, and stakeholder management.

As an associate on this high paced and high-impact team, you will build skills such as financial analysis and modelling, executive level communication, strategic thinking, and problem solving.

Investor Relations :

Investor Relations has a key role of communicating EQB’s value proposition to the investor community. LDP Associates will be primarily responsible for supporting a variety of Investor Relations related efforts, which could include preparing quarterly earnings presentations, updating equity analyst models (for consensus) and competitive benchmarking against peer banks.

From time to time, Associates may be expected to attend the Analyst & Investor meetings to take notes and to prepare for those meetings in advance (i.

e., updating investor marketing presentations and creating one-pagers on investor profile). Throughout the rotation, LDP Associates will gain a strong understanding of a bank’s financial statements and operations, as well as a deeper understanding of the Canadian banking landscape

In Growth Business Strategy , you will support the team to grow the two decumulation stage products we offer (Reverse Mortgages and Insurance Lending).

This may involve competitive landscape assessment, underwriting tool updates, market expansion, product innovations, and channel growth.
