This role sits within Laurentian Bank.

The incumbent is mainly responsible for the delivery of IT risk analysis for the bank in critical projects, vendor due diligence and technology risk assessments. In addition, the incumbent participates in and manages the implementation and monitoring of processes and projects related to the efficiency of their sector.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the execution of the Operational Risk Management framework and its application with respect to Information Technology
  • Performs technology risk assessments for applications and infrastructure assets
  • Leads the assessment of new vendors including providing effective challenge of the supplier criticality
  • Executes Centralized Issue Management (CIM), from identification through post validation closure; ensure appropriate ownership, management and timely closure of all risk events and issues within the sectors under 1B Risk oversight.
  • Provide support on Process Risk & Control Assessments (PRCAs) and related activities, including updates and maintenance of PRCA inventory based on change / addition / deletion of risks and changes in associated controls, performance of PRCA testing and monitoring activities.
  • Collaborate with business units to analyse root causes of operational risk events, incidents and issues by ensuring corrective action plans and supporting a consensus across various areas of the Bank.
  • Keep up-to-date on the latest technology and operational risk techniques and industry standards, best practices, current legislation, policies, programs, procedures and market trends.
  • Advise, educate managers and users on all IT risks including information security and cyber protection controls.
  • Regulatory Reporting
  • Assist in reporting of IT Risks and associated KRIs as well as ongoing enhancements.

Qualifications

  • University education in an appropriate field and 6+ years of experience
  • Good knowledge of IT risk management and IT security concepts including COBIT and NIST frameworks, Regulations
  • Experience in the banking sector (asset)
  • CISA, CISSP or CRISC designation (asset)
  • Experience with Cybersecurity (asset)
  • Excellent writing and documentation skills
  • Good analytical skills
  • Excellent communication skills.
