Our client is an established and differentiated real estate developer that is expanding its team in Vancouver, BC. Since the 2000s, this developer has established a high-performance culture by building a collaborative team of experienced professionals who are dedicated to achieving the highest standard of quality. Thepany has experience in various asset classes of real estate, which include residential, mixed use, purpose-built rental, senior living facilities andmercial. Their portfolio ofpleted projects has a market value of nearly $400 million, with an additional $3 billion currently under development or going through the entitlement process. This includes the highly anticipated master-plannedmunity in Metro Vancouver. The first two phases are currently under construction.

Your new role

As Project Manager, you will be tasked with managing a new residential project as well as assisting in the management of the developer's wider portfolio. This developer utilizes the services of external General Contractors to manage the construction of their projects, and this will therefore be an owner’s representative project management position. The business will consider candidates who are already operating as a Project Manager or someone who is an Assistant / Junior Project Manager and ready to make the step-up. You will provide overall management, administration, and technical direction to ensure the efficient and effective delivery of the project. This will include working with internal and external stakeholders through conceptual design to define project requirements and feasibility, development and management of project budget, schedule, quality and sustainability standards, and planning of the design process and procurement strategy. You will interact closely with external consultants and construction management partners, and you will gain exposure to all aspects of development management and thus the position represents an excellent opportunity for a PM to broaden their skillset and to continue to develop professionally.

What you'll need to succeed

This developer is looking for an intelligent and dynamic individual who is ready to take on the challenge of executing thepany’s first project in the Fraser Valley. You have a minimum of 5(+) years of construction management experience in Metro Vancouver. Ideally, this person will be from a General Contracting background, but candidates from a Developer background will also be considered. You will have a proven track record of managing multifamily projects from start to finish. You arefortable leading diverse teams of design and construction professionals through the design, preconstruction, and construction phases. Having experience working in collaborative, design-assist environments considered an asset.
