As a Financial Analyst, Tangible Capital Assets (TCA), your primary duties include :
- Document and identify business processes, controls and evaluate its effectiveness and potential impacts on existing financial reporting processes.
- Identify financial control gaps and issues; recommend opportunity for improvements.
- Recommend changes to reporting processes relating to TCA sustainment and on its existing accounting policies and procedures to conform to Public Sector Accounting Standards.
- Work with business units in the integration of TCA policies and processes into their business processes.
- Recommend and create new financial reports relating to TCA as required.
- Develop a broader understanding of all Enterprise Resource Planning software (PeopleSoft)
- Develop reporting and provide end-user support using the Business Intelligence Tool (Business Objects).
- Participate in functional testing.
- Create use acceptance testing scripts, end user training material, end user training, and other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
A degree in a related field such as Accounting or Business Administration plus at least 5 years of senior financial accounting experience which includes facilitation, methodology development, identifying best practices and change management; ORA Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation plus at least 3 years of senior financial accounting experience which includes facilitation, methodology development, identifying best practices and change management.Previous experience in and working knowledge of financial reporting.Experience with PeopleSoft Financial and Supply Change Management (FSCM) is considered to be an asset.Experience with large scale finance projects is also an asset.Success in this position requires strong financial, analytical, and computer skills; effective communication and organizational skills; and the ability to work as a part of a team.Equivalent combinations of experience and education may be considered.
