Your Opportunity
Your role as the Mechanical Engineer is to work alongside a team of highly skilled Engineers, Engineers in Training, Technologists, Designers, and Co‑Op staff to successfully execute projects of varying sizes and complexity. The Mechanical Engineer role is also responsible for contributing to the development, mentoring, and coaching of team members using your specialized knowledge of mechanical systems, means and methods, materials, and industry standards. You will be responsible for aligning and enforcing technical quality for all your deliverables and advancing the efficiency and efficacy of all mechanical team members.

Key Responsibilities
Workload and resource planning with the Industrial Mechanical team, coordinating with the Team Leads and team members – including Engineers, Engineers in Training, Technologists, and Co‑Ops.Engage with other team members and other mechanical staff within the BC to assist with technical development.Internal leadership in design excellence, coaching, recruitment and retention.Lead and assist in the development of single-discipline work.Provide fee development and technical writing support for mechanical components of medium to large multidisciplinary proposals.Provide technical input and support for large projects of high complexity.Evaluate, select, specify, and engineer all mechanical systems or products for a project.Engage in the development of a design through sketches, electronic models, diagrams, and other visual formats.Utilize BIM technologies in the development of three-dimensional models of building’s mechanical systems and provide markups for junior engineers.Prepare and revise documentation in various mechanical phases, including site plans, floor plans, diagrams, and details.Lead project coordination meetings with internal team members and / or external consultants, owners, contractors, sub‑contractors, and vendors.Participate in client project requirement meetings, value analysis, and basic cost estimating.Lead the preparation and coordination of the project specifications with construction documents.Participate in constructability review.Conduct quality assurance and quality control on own projects and projects of peers.Assist in the development of new standards and specifications for the mechanical group.Develop project scope, budgets, and design approach for all sizes of projects.Oversee and manage multiple projects.Capabilities and Credentials
Requisite knowledge and application of applicable building codes and building and energy codes.General understanding of all phases of project document production and the relationship between drawings and specifications.Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, means and methods, materials, and industry standards.Ability to check the work of others for accuracy and completeness and manage time to meet project budget and schedule.Ability to participate and collaborate in project team settings and to engage in creative and critical thought.Thorough understanding of mechanical engineering concepts and ability to effectively communicate ideas to others.Must be able to qualify for Security Clearance with the Department of National Defense.Advanced oral and written communication skills.Presentation and interview skills are preferred.Requires understanding of Microsoft Office Suite, Revit, AutoCAD, Revizto, and heat load calculation software.Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering & Licensed Professional Engineer.Minimum of 8 years of experience.LEED Green Associate or LEED AP preferred.Typical office environment : working with computers and remaining sedentary for long periods of time. Field work may include exposure to the elements including inclement weather.
Pay Range
Locations Outside of Lower Mainland - BC - Min Salary $86,600.00 - Max Salary $125,600.00Benefits Summary
